Inspiration: My sister because she is really smart

Wingspan: What made you choose the cello?

Punnen: “My sister plays the violin so I didn’t want to copy her and I thought the cello sounded really nice.”

Wingspan: When did you learn of your interest in music?

Punnen: “In 5th we had to do an audition for orchestra in middle school and I decided to try the instruments and I really enjoyed music from them.”

Wingspan: When did you discover your talent? How has that changed you?

Punnen: “I used to play piano in second or third grade. It’s a place for me to relax , music takes the stress off academics and other extracurricular activities.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare for a concert?

Punnen: “Usually we just practice in orchestra and I take around thirty minutes to practice at home.”

Wingspan: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

Punnen: “I just act like I didn’t make a mistake.”

Wingspan: Are you considering this as a career?

Punnen: “Not as a career but as a passion that I still do when I am employed.”

Wingspan: What’s been your favorite memory in orchestra?

Punnen: “My first high school UIL when we played symphonies with the band. It was a really great experience.”

Wingspan: How do you balance orchestra and your extracurriculars?

Punnen: “I try to prioritize my time. So when there is orchestra rehearsals I will do my homework ahead of time and manage my time accordingly.”
