Redhawks to work in rhythm with Knights
May 24, 2018
Redhawk percussionists are joining forces with the Knights as they perform a joint music piece at Independence’s spring concert Thursday at 7 p.m.
“Just in general, getting to do things with people from other schools is always fun for me,” junior Kennedy Williams said. “I love to see how things are different but the same at the same time, and it’s nice to make new friends too.”
The percussionists will be performing a piece titled “Toccata for Percussion Orchestra”, a tour de force written for 12 percussionists that is rooted in the Romantic era.
“I play assorted drums for Toccata,” junior Alexis Jennings said. “I kind of have the backbone of the piece, more like what keeps it together.”
