Wingspan: How long have you been playing volleyball and what got you started?
Slater: “I started playing volleyball when I was in first grade. I think our moms wanted us to play a sport when we were younger so they put together a team.”
Wingspan: What fuels your passion to play?
Slater: “I just like whenever we win, it’s such a great feeling and the team together as whole makes me so happy.”
Wingspan: How do you prepare yourself before a game?
Slater: “I prepare myself by just thinking of what I can do to help us win and just thinking positive things.”
Wingspan: Who do you think is your biggest competition this year?
Slater: “Our biggest competition this year is probably Lebanon Trail who we take on this friday.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part about being on the team?
Slater: “My favorite part about being on the team is all of the girls. They are so sweet and loving and they’re so good at volleyball.”
Wingspan: Is there anything that you are wanting to improve on?
Slater: “I could probably improve on my cheering and not getting too angry.”
Wingspan: How are you working to achieve this?
Slater: “I think just during practice just keeping a positive mindset.”
