Wingspan: How did you become interested in soccer?

Butler: “I like to run around and kick people, so that seemed like the best sport to play.”

Wingspan: What position do you play and why?

Butler: “Midfield because it has the most running, and I like to run.”

Wingspan: How do you balance school and soccer?

Butler: “You gotta find the right balance between work, soccer, and schoolwork. Whenever you have free time do your homework, but also don’t forget to run and do your extra work for soccer and be the best you can be.”

Wingspan: What does your training schedule look like? How often do you practice?

Butler: “The team practices about an hour and a half everyday through the school week. I try to stay after for 30 minutes to an hour just to get extra work in and get better.”

Wingspan: Do you have a certain diet you must follow? If so what is it?

Butler: “No, I probably need one though.”

Wingspan: How do you plan to pursue this for the future?

Butler: “I plan to go pro, to go overseas, and become the best player in the world.”

Wingspan: Do you have a specific routine before playing a game?

Butler: “The team usually just hangs out together before the games, whether it’s at school or someone’s house, listen to music, play video games, or just hang out and stay relaxed.”

Wingspan: What was your biggest accomplishment?

Butler: “Probably winning back to back to back JV 2 MVP’s.”

Wingspan: Have you ever gotten any serious injuries from playing?

Butler: “Surprisingly no, I kind of feel left out because my friends get injured sometimes and I kind of want to get injured at least once.”

Wingspan: What motivates you?

Butler: “I don’t like being told I can’t do something so I’m always trying to get better and practice to prove the doubters wrong.”
