As a substitute to whole milk, Girish demonstrates how to make customizable gluten-free milk for one’s daily coffee.

Oat milk

Do you want your coffee to be more than just a morning coffee? If so, look no further, for I have a guilt-free way to enrich the first drink of the day.

Oat milk is the best alternative to regular milk, and it takes less than 15 minutes to make.

Because oats absorb water more easily than nuts, when blended together, they produce rich and creamy milk that can be used as a substitute in almost any recipe that calls for whole milk.

Preparing this from the comfort of your home lets you experiment with the different flavors and sweeteners. For example, I like adding monk fruit sweetener and vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 4 cups of water
  • Flavoring of choice, vanilla extract, almond extract, banana, etc.
  • Sweetener of choice, monk fruit sugar, maple syrup, jaggery, molasses, honey, etc.

Directions

  • Add the oats and water in a high-speed blender.
  • Blend on high for 2-3 minutes. Make sure you give the oats adequate time to blend for best results.
  • Filter the milk through a cheesecloth.
  • Add the sweeteners and the flavorings. This is where you can really experiment and tweak your milk to how you like it.
  • Store in an airtight jar; it will last 4-5 days in the fridge.

Now you can enjoy your guilt free morning coffee with homemade oat milk.
