In this week’s addition of Artistic Expressions, sophomore Sathvik Kothapalli describes his love for the trumpet.

Inspiration:I got inspired by my great grandfather

Favorite Musician: My favorite musician is Louis Armstrong

 

Wingspan: What made you choose the trumpet?

Kothapalli: “I chose the trumpet because it is a unique instrument and can play high notes!”

Wingspan: How does band impact your daily life?

Kothapalli: “Band impacts my life because I have been marching everyday.”

Wingspan: Do you plan on continuing band past high school?

Kothapalli: “I want to continue band because many of my friends are in band, and it’s a really fun experience.”

Wingspan: What are your goals for this year?

Kothapalli: “My goal this year is to try out for the band leadership team, and also make a club.”

Wingspan: How do you balance school, band, and other activities?

Kothapalli: “Calendars help me balance what I need and what free time I have, so I can know when I have stuff to do.”

Wingspan: What are your favorite memories of the band?

Kothapalli: “My favorite memory of the band was the football games.” 

Wingspan: What is your advice for anyone considering joining the band?

Kothapalli: “My advice is to be prepared for the coming storm. It is a high attention activity and will fill your schedule.”

Wingspan: If you had to play another instrument, what would it be?

Kothapalli: “I would choose the trombone or the clarinet.”
