Chapter 6: David

February 26, 2016

Then, the good part came. Arman had to come with me to see Epic Proportions with me, at a show when I wasn’t in the cast. I had been looking forward to introducing Arman to the joyous world of theater for months, and it was finally the day. In fact, I honestly didn’t even care if he hated it, because then I could get back at him for the basketball game.

The thing is, I had shown up on time for the game, so don’t you think it would be common courtesy for Arman to show up on time, too? The play was starting in ten minutes, and I was sitting there in the audience, waiting for him to show up. I texted him asking where he was, and guess what his response was? “I’m at work”.

Arman ended up showing up halfway through the first act, and when I asked whether or not he had even asked his boss if he could leave, he said he hadn’t.

“He’s too scary,” he said. “He hates me enough already.”

When I asked him what was more important, his job or school work, he just laughed. I’m not joking.
