Wingspan: What made you choose the clarinet?

Baiju: “I really like woodwind instruments and so I chose the clarinet because of that.”

Wingspan: How does band impact your daily life?

Baiju: “It impacts my daily life because I have to go to band until like six, seven, or eight o’clock in the night and so I don’t have

that much time to finish my assignments.”

Wingspan: Are you going to continue with band after high school?

Baiju: “Most likely not because I am gonna be really busy after high school.”

Wingspan: What are your personal music goals for this year?

Baiju: “I want to make the All-Region Band and I also want to get into the All-State Band too.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite thing about band?

Baiju: “Probably my friends in there.”

Wingspan: How do you balance band, school, and other extracurricular activities?

Baiju: “I balance it by managing my time and planning things out in my day with a planner.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite memory of band?

Baiju: “Probably the football games.” 

Wingspan: What inspired you to join band? 

Baiju: “My dad is an instrument lover and he is also a musician, and he inspired me to do band.”

Wingspan: What does your practice schedule look like?

Baiju: “I practice almost 3 times a week.”

Wingspan: What is your advice to anybody thinking about joining band?

Baiju: “I would say, have fun with it and just keep practicing and make friends in band too.”

Wingspan: If you had to pick a different instrument to play, what would it be?

Baiju: “I really like oboe and I wanted to do oboe and I also like the flute too.
