Volleyball’s undefeated streak in District 10-5A came to an end on Tuesday, when they fell to the Memorial Warriors in a tight 3-2 game.

“We did not have our best game on Tuesday, we looked pretty inconsistent,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “The team really struggled blocking their outside hitters and had trouble defending Memorial’s offense. This loss showed us how important it is to not get comfortable with our first-place position. We have to work for every win, we can’t expect them to fall into our lap.”

Despite the loss, the team is taking a look at how to recover from this setback to deliver more wins in the second round of district play.

“It did not go as we planned,” senior Mandy Duckworth said. “I think we started off strong, but we got too comfortable. Our weaknesses were definitely our energy and our willingness to win. In future games we are going to work for every point and not let the game be over until it is finally over.
