Wingspan: What is your favorite medium of art? Why?

Yang: “Gouache and charcoal because they are easy to work with I like the opacity of gouache and the contrast of charcoal.”

Wingspan: What do you think inspires your art?

Yang: “I don’t think there’s a specific thing that inspires me. For me, inspiration comes from my everyday life.”

Wingspan: What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to pursue art?

Yang: “Art isn’t meant to be perfect, so don’t sweat the mistakes.”
