Review: Noodle Wave brings new Thai flavor
Noodle Wave is a fairly new Thai restaurant that may change your perspective of Thai food. Located near L.A. Fitness along 121 near Preston, this restaurant offers a variation of food such as noodles, rice, slushies, teas, and much more.
The restaurant is quite small but on weekdays, there is little to no wait. However on the weekends, the restaurant is packed and the wait time can be ridiculously long during lunch and dinner and can vary from 30 minutes to one hour 15 minutes depending on the party size.
Daily specials are what this restaurant is known for. They offer a whole fish (the type of fish depends on the day of the week) with herbal seasonings. The two main fish options are crispy garlic whole fish or sweet chili basil whole fish. Although, the fish can cost up to $40, the price does match the quality and quantity. The daily special is offered during lunch and dinner.
Be warned however, the lunch and dinner menu have much different price range. The menu is the same but prices increase at dinner.
Many people like to start off with a lychee smoothie or a drink of some sort with an appetizer. Most customers love the meat options here and start off with a crab softshell noodle dish or a chicken/ beef coconut curry. The restaurant also offers seafood, noodle soup, and stir fry. For vegetarians, there are also many options the chef can make with the request of no meat. After the meal is done, there are also many options for dessert such as fried ice cream or pan seared chocolate cake. Dessert and Chai teas are offered for lunch and dinner as well.
A personal favorite is the chicken or beef basil fried rice. This dish is the perfect combination of rice and basil paired with grated carrots and cucumbers. It can be shared by two people or can be enjoyed alone.
The quality and quantity of food is worth the price and there is something for everyone here. The environment is welcoming and the staff is knowledgeable. If you want to have the best local Thai food, Noodle Wave is the place to go.
