This week on Artistic Expressions, Erika Pernis sits down with drill team member Kanen Braden. Braden talks about her future in drill and her favorite memories.

Wingspan: What is your favorite memory from drill?
Braden: “My favorite memory is officer camp 2022-2023.”
Wingspan: What lessons has drill taught you?
Braden: “How to be a servant leader and how to communicate with others more effectively.”
Wingspan: When did you first start dancing?
Braden: “I started dancing freshman year when I was in dance class at Liberty.”
Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about dance?
Braden: “The people are definitely my favorite, but I also love how much joy it brings me to work so hard at something.”
Wingspan: Do you plan on continuing dance past high school?
Braden: “I plan to be in the dance society at Texas A&M.”
Wingspan: What would your advice be for anyone wanting to join drill team?
Braden: “It is so much fun! You are going to have the time of your life just listen to your directors and officers and know that they truly do so much for you!”
