Frisco ISD held its monthly board meeting Monday night at the Administration Building.
The meeting began with a recognition of the FISD Partners of Education and the Frisco elementary honor choir, along with a performance by the choir and then a recognition of the FISD marching band state qualifiers.
Following this, the board had its third monthly future-ready spotlight, as well as an update on the process of building a visual and performing arts center.
Along with this, the board voted and approved the proposed 2024-2025 school year calendar.
With 2024 being an election year, for the first time ever FISD will be having a fall break from Nov. 1-Nov. 5. This also means that students will not have school the day after Halloween.
The first day of school will be on a Monday, Aug. 12, and the last day of school will be on May 21.
School hours will also be unchanged from the current school year .
