Just before breaking for the winter holidays, the Redhawk swim and dive team will go up against Panther Creek HS Tuesday at the Bruce Eubanks Natatorium.
“We have some good success so far this season, so I think this will be a close meet and a very good one,” head coach Zachariah Gnoza said. “Keeping kids healthy is my biggest concern. We will be missing a few kids, so I am counting on the others to step up and race hard. We have made this annual meet against Panther Creek not only a swim competition but also a spirit competition, so I really want the kids to have fun, cheer on their teammates, and enjoy the moment.”
The meet’s emphasis on character gives those such as sophomore Derek Hinz an opportunity to make new friends, even as they’re competing against each other.
“During rest and breaks, socializing with the team is a great way to meet new people and get close,” Hinz said.
