The number of Redhawks that are state bound just got higher as the UIL academic team is sending several students to Austin.
Students in Lincoln Douglas debate, number sense, and science placed high enough at the Regional tournament at UT Arlington to advance to the State meet.
“I’m really excited at the opportunity even though I am a senior and I’m not going to be able to do this again next year,” senior Shruti Bhoyar said. “I think it’s a really exciting thing especially because I haven’t been available to go to districts any of the other years, so I like that it was my first time doing it but it kinda sucks that it’s my last time doing it and I hope that it goes well.”
The UIL State academic meet is at UT Austin from May 13 through May 15.
