Wingspan: When and why did you start playing football?
Johnson: “I started in seventh grade when football was offered because it was when school sports started and all of my friends were playing it so I thought it would be fun to try something new.”
Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about football?
Johnson: “My favorite part of football is definitely the atmosphere, the team bonding like brothers, and the school coming to support with the band playing is just a whole experience that I instantly fell in love with.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Johnson: “Not too sure what my inspiration was but I think I just really wanted to play to get the experience of the game.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Johnson: “My biggest supporter is definitely my parents who have gone to every single game, and win or lose they are so proud of me.”
Wingspan: What do you hope to accomplish this season?
Johnson: “I hope to accomplish lots of things but I think the biggest one is changing the culture of Liberty football.”
Wingspan: How do you cope with nerves before a game?
Johnson: “I get very nervous before games, especially at the Star, but I’m able to calm down by listening to my pregame playlist.”
Wingspan: Do you plan to continue your football career after high school?
Johnson: “Although football is amazing, I don’t plan on continuing after high school because I want to pursue a career in physical therapy.”
