Shaking off last week’s results against Lebanon Trail, the Redhawks football team moves into week two of their season Friday at 7 p.m. against Centennial at Kuykendall looking for a better outcome.
“It’s a whole new week, and a whole new ball game,” junior Connor Johnson said. “We definitely have a chance to beat the Titans.”
To achieve a win on Friday the boys will have to correct errors from last week.
“We have to give ourselves a chance,” head coach Matt Swinnea said. “And by that, I mean we have to not turn the ball over, limit penalties, and execute at a high rate.”
Cramps have been an issue for high school football teams across the area. With a high of 88 degrees on Friday, the Redhawks will need to stay hydrated.
“We are limited in our numbers, so staying hydrated and cramp-free will be paramount as the game wears on,” Swinnea said. “While it will be warmer than the climate-controlled confines of Ford Center at The Star, I don’t think it will be too big of an issue.”
