With their winning streak on the line, Redhawks volleyball faces Lone Star in an away match Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for the team’s final non-district contest of the season.
“We are going to prioritize defending the middle and outside hitters well [because] we are scrappy and are good at moving the ball around the court [but]they are physically a lot bigger than us and have some really solid offensive options,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We’re excited for what should be a fun battle between two good teams.”
Aware of the challenges that this match will likely bring, senior Mackenzie Raymond is preparing to the best of her ability as the team’s prepares for the start of District 11-5A play against Frisco on Friday.
“Right now, I still am working really hard to better improve my block and be more aggressive at the net,” Raymond said. “It can be really hard to read the ball and know who the set is going to, while also knowing when to go up to block, and I feel like that is a big challenge for me right now, though I am getting better.”
