According to School Nurse Carolina Craft, a flu shot can make a difference especially for certain populations.
“The flu shots actually reduces the severity of the flu when you get it,” Craft said. “[This is] especially in younger and older populations and as well as populations that have weak or compromised immune systems.”
For students such as sophomore Zehao Sun, the flu clinic plays an essential role in stopping the spread of the flu, and allows for people who previously couldn’t access flu shots, to finally be able to get them.
“I think the flu clinic is very helpful because it provides flu shots to people who may not have access to it,” Sun said. “I think it plays a big role in preventing the spread of the disease.”
