The next match for the volleyball team will see the court turned into a battlefield as the Redhawks (4-1) travel down to Memorial Tuesday to face off against the Warriors (4-1).
This will be the second time this season that the two teams compete with one another. In their previous matchup at the Northwest ISD Tournament in August, the Redhawks pulled away with a 2-0 win. However, with both now on equal footing in the standings and with similar win percentages overall, many Redhawks players and coaches believe the rematch is shaping up to be close.
“We will have to play strong both defensively and offensively and work together,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “This is going to be a tight rematch, so we need to be consistent and cannot underestimate them.”
Senior Brooklyn Brown agrees, noting the critical role defense in particular will play.
“We’re going to need to put up a big block and have shot selection that allows us to get around Memorial’s defense to score,” Brown said.
