Review: Ms. Rabbit’s Diner at Peppa Pig theme park

After hours of laughing and running at the Peppa Pig theme park, one might find themselves a little famished. That’s why Ms. Rabbit’s Diner is one of the highlights of the theme park.  When you walk into Miss Rabbit’s diner, the bright decor and cartoon accents place you right inside the world of Peppa Pig. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the environment was welcoming. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating for parties of all sizes. The meals came with an entree, side, drink, and muddy puddle milkshake of your choosing. The service was on the slower end and they were out of some menu options like the fruit cup. They also ran out of the most popular side which was the macaroni and cheese. But the rest of the experience made up for it. However, to be fair, this was a special opening for media members only and some of the issues may be a result of Wednesday’s trial run.

The kids grilled cheese left something to be desired. It was clear it had been sitting for a while as the cheese was no longer melty. The sandwich was not especially warm and the bread was slightly over-toasted, leaving it dry.

The mac and cheese side was a standard execution of a classic. The warm noodles were coated in a creamy cheese sauce sure to please toddlers and adults alike.

The focal point of the meal was most definitely the muddy puddle milkshake which comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. Served in a souvenir glass, covered with fluffy whipped cream, coated with a sprinkle rim, and topped with a cookie, the presentation is nothing short of magnificent. Upon first sip, the milkshake is exactly what you would hope for: sweet, creamy, and refreshing.

The margherita pizza was not the best, and not recommended. It was decent, but is it worth the price tag of ten dollars? No.

The pizza was cold when served which makes me think it was either just sitting for a while or it was just not warmed up enough. The bread was dry and a little to hard to chew, the cheese had no pull, and the sauce was just far too acidic.

The mac and cheese was standard, but to me it had a sort of smell that reminded me of cardboard. I am also just very sensitive to smells and foods. But one you actually had the mac and cheese in your mouth the wet, papery smell seemed to dissipate.

The best part of the entire meal, though, was the muddy puddle milkshake. It was incredibly creamy and thick with just the right amount of sweetness. I got the vanilla milkshake with a chocolate chip cookie on top, and it was absolutely immaculate.

Baked potatoes, a common classic hard to mess up or enhance. Ms. Rabbit’s Diner, on the other hand, did find a way to enhance and for only eight dollars.

In the baked potato was the usual sour cream and cheese, but instead of the typical bacon, brisket was included. I do not think I have had a better baked potato in my life. Maybe the choice to not include bacon was due to the controversy it may have caused with the theme park mascot, but no matter the reason I am not complaining. Brisket was a great addition to the already beloved meal.

For my choice of side, I chose the hummus and pretzels. The hummus and pretzels were ones you could just find at Target pre-packaged by the brand Sabra. I am a hummus lover and have had that brand before so I enjoyed it as a side option, as it is a very uncommon side.

The Brisket Sandwich was the most expensive item on the menu, costing around $17, the brisket was cooked perfectly, with a brioche bun, lettuce and a side of chips.

The sandwich was filled with a decent amount of brisket, but was severed cold. The brisket was not chewy, which I personally prefer. But the brioche bun was tuff, and hard to bite into and chew. The sandwich was also filled with barbeque sauce, which I got extra of. And made the sandwich taste so much better. The side I chose was just a normal bag of potato chips, which went perfectly with the sandwich.

Overall the sandwich was okay, for it being the most expensive item on the menu for almost $20, I think it should have been served warm. But it was a filling meal, with phenomenal brisket. But the star of the diner had to be the muddy puddle milkshakes. I enjoyed the thick chocolate milkshake with chocolate drizzle along the inside of the cup, it was so good, and really blew my mind away.
