Excitement beyond the field
Three days since the opening game at The Star, the excitement still lingers.
“I honestly felt amazed because this is such a good opportunity, how they built this for us and us being in high school and being able to play in such a big stadium,” athletic trainer Kayce Antoine said. “I just thought that was really cool.”
It was a sentiment shared well beyond the field of play.
“It was a good experience,” Hung said. “The environment and the air conditioning and the fact a lot of people were there made it cool.”
Most of those playing or performing at The Star are used to crowds, but at least one member of Red Rhythm, there were some nerves at first.
“Performing at the Star gave me a lot of anxiety since there was basically no seats left open,” senior Libby Breaux said. “But after hearing the crowd roar it made me feel better knowing that there weren’t a lot of people just out getting snacks and actually paid attention.”
Although the opening of The Star is one of the biggest addition to Frisco in years, it was something a bit more familiar that made it special.
“It was so fun to get to see the new facility,” cheerleader Landrie Strain said. “Especially getting to experience it with my friends.”
