Wingspan: How often do you practice and how does that looks like for you?
Guan: “I practice after school with the team along with playing during fourth period.”
Wingspan: Who in tennis do you admire most and why?
Guan: “My favorite player is Novak Djokovic, he’s been my favorite since I started playing tennis.”
Wingspan: What made you want to be apart of this sport?
Guan: “Well I originally started just playing for fun when I was little and then I started playing competitively a little bit later.”
Wingspan: What does it feel like to be on court?
Guan: “It feels good to be able to have an outlet.”
Wingspan: What’s the worst thing that could happen in the court and has it happened to you?
Guan: “Being pegged, which is being hit by the ball, and yes it has happened and it hurts.”
Wingspan: What are some of the challenges you face in tennis?
Guan: “Being available to practice even though you don’t have the time.”
Wingspan: When things are going bad during a match, how do you motivate and encourage your teammates?
Guan: “We always cheer on our teammates when they’re playing in matches so they know that we’re watching.”
Wingspan:Do you have any advice for anyone looking to play tennis?
Guan: “Make sure that you’re okay with being tan, I hate that part about it.”
Wingspan: How are you planning to pursue tennis in the future?
Guan: “Once I leave high school that’ll be it for me for tennis, but whenever I have free time I’ll definitely play.”
