Special school board meeting Thursday
October 13, 2016

With the construction of Memorial High School currently underway, the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees is meeting Thursday to discuss the fate of Memorial and the three other schools scheduled to open next year.
Trying to keep all schools at a small size, the district has to constantly redraw attendance zones to make sure enrollment at each campus falls into a certain range.
With voters rejecting a tax increase in August, Thursday’s meeting will be the first step in determining if the new schools will open next year.
Whatever decision is made, there will be some rezoning for next year.
Thursday’s meeting is the first step in determining zoning areas for next year, but final decisions will be determined by several factors including whether or not memorial high school opens next year.
