The football team has Friday night off after starting its non-district schedule with a 39-14 loss to Sherman at the Ford Center 39-14 Thursday night.

“We started the game out very strong, we had a couple of stops on defense and went down the field and scored,” senior corner Blake Battle said. “Even though the game didn’t go our way I think our team fought until the end and gave it our all.”

The team will continue its non-district season against Prosper on Sept. 15.

“We just need to work on doing our job and every person needs to focus on winning their individual battle,” Battle said. “Too many times we made mental mistakes that cost us badly.”
