Counselor sessions during advisory
October 3, 2017
Students are given a variety of options on what to do during the 25 minute advisory period with one of the least known being the Counselor Sessions that are available on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the lecture hall with the next one this week.
“We know it is difficult sometimes for students to come in during their classes and before or after school,” counselor Cissy Blaisure said. “We wanted to give an additional time frame to come in which was more convenient for the student.”
Before the advisory period sessions with the counselors began, students had to make an appointment by submitting a request in the counselor lobby.
“The biggest change so far is the students who seem more hesitant to come during class time have come in since they have time,” Blaisure said. “That way they aren’t missing instruction to come talk to us.”
