FEF scholarship window opens
November 27, 2017
The Frisco Education Foundation opened its scholarship application window on Monday for seniors graduating in 2018.
Frisco ISD graduating seniors are eligible to be considered for hundreds of scholarships, which are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, community involvement, volunteer efforts and other criteria designated by donors.
“FEF scholarships are great because it’s one application for a variety of scholarships,” counselor Stephanie Mueller said. “It’s good because it puts you in a bigger pool.”
Since 1999 and the beginning of the Foundation, FEF has awarded more than $5.8 million in scholarships to over 5,100 seniors.
“There are qualifying factors for the scholarships that you are eligible for,” Muller said. “For instance is you go to Purefoy Elementary, then you will qualify for that.”
The application window ends on December 15 at 4 p.m. with no exceptions for late applications.
Scholarship winners will be announced at the 2018 FEF Scholarship Night on May 23 at Dr Pepper Arena.
“It’s our community giving back to our students as well,” Mueller said. “And we have a lot of students that can benefit from the award money that goes straight towards college.”
