Sophomore Bailey Wright is the only Redhawk on the diving team that will be competing in Thursday’s Region II diving meet at the Bruce Eubanks Natatorium. But that’s not new to her as she has been the entire diving team since the season began last fall. 

Even though Wright is the only diver on the Redhawks team, she’s not alone.

“We all practice together and so we’re all friends, so it’s like we’re one big team not a bunch of separate teams,” Wright said. “It’s not as scary as I thought it would be.” 

New to diving, she may not have the experience in making a splash, but her background has prepared her well.

“I’m a competitive cheerleader, and I’ve been doing that my whole life,” Wright said. “It helps a lot because I can already do a lot of the harder stuff. I just had to add on to the things I could do, so it helped a lot.”
