Red Rhythm crowned Grand Champions
February 20, 2018
Practicing since July, Red Rhythm was named Grand Champs at the Danceline Productions USA Dance/Drill Team Competition at Celina High School on Saturday.
“The preparation for competition started back in the summer,” Red Rhythm director Nicole Nothe said. “It was a long process, but we grew together as a team throughout the season. The girls have really improved immensely from the first competition, and the directors are really proud of them.”
Practicing their routines for nearly seven months, president Gracie Brown believes team bonding is crucial.
“We play games with each other when we’re not scheduled to perform,” Brown said. “That really helps us stay motivated and encourages us to give our best during performances.”
Proud of the team’s hard work, captain Karley Dykes feels rewarded winning overall Grand Champs.
“I feel so proud of my team for winning Grand Champs this season, and it’s such an amazing feeling to know that all our hard work paid off,” Dykes said. “The best moment was when they announced our team as the winner of the entire competition because in that moment we all stood up and knew that we accomplished this together.”
