The girls cross country team, along with two boys, have advanced to the regional meet after securing top finishes in the District 9-5A meet Tuesday at Warren Park. The top 3 teams advanced along with the top 10 individuals.

As a team, the girls took 2nd place with five of its runners placing in the top 30: Carrie Fish (1st), Yuliana Lorenso (5th), Kendall Rose (7th), Gabriela Leyva-Montiel (20th) and Rithika Proddutoor (28th).

On the boys side, the team finished 4th and will not advance. However, due to finishing in the top 10 as individuals, Josh Akin (6th) and Nick Wynne (7th) qualified for the regional meet in Grand Prairie on October 26.
