Review: Super Chix delivers on name
May 10, 2018
While driving to Chipotle by Stonebriar mall, a huge sign that said “Super Chix” caught our attention. We soon parked and entered the restaurant, which has a very modern kick to its ambiance. Going there for the first time, it was clear that the menu focused purely on chicken in almost every item with some vegetarian options offered. The menu ranged from chicken tender options to salad options to sandwich options, and there was also a pretty vast range of custards and shakes offered. The menu can be a bit overwhelming but the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful about the menu.
To start off we ordered an order of fries. Now these weren’t your typical fries. The fries are hand-cut and are offered with three seasonings: salt, signature sweet, and rosemary black pepper. We got the rosemary black pepper seasoning, and honestly they were probably the best fries I’ve ever had. The amount was enough for a party of two. Each fry had so much flavor, and the whole basket was empty in five minutes between the two of us.
Up next, Southwest Chicken Salad. The salad includes: arcadian harvest greens, mandarin oranges, tortilla strips, avocado, cherry tomatoes & pumpkin seeds topped with diced grilled chicken. The price of the salad is $8.99 and well worth it. The quantity is plentiful and has several pieces of grilled chicken and avocados. A special kick to the salad was the mandarin oranges. The mixture of savory and sweet in a salad always appeals to me, so personally, the mandarin oranges made the salad so much better. One thing that was kind of poor, was the salad dressing. There was almost little to no dressing, and that made detracted from the taste.
On the other hand, my dad ordered the five count chicken tenders. The tenders came with one serving of special sauce which wasn’t enough for the five, pretty large, chicken tenders. Now I’m not the biggest fan of chicken, but this chicken had a perfectly golden crispy exterior and a soft interior. After trying the chicken, I was pretty impressed, which was surprising because I don’t typically eat chicken, or enjoy eating chicken. The five chicken tenders were hard to finish between the two of us due to how large the tenders are.
Although there are plenty of fast food chicken places to choose from, Super Chix offers quality food worth the price, provides a pleasant experience, and ensures there will be several more visits in the future.
