Charcoal is a natural remedy for oily and acne prone skin.

Good skin from within

October 23, 2018

Just because summer is over, it doesn’t mean it’s time to give up on the summer bod. This not only means we should keep working on getting that six pack, but making sure your skin is looking healthy and fresh as it prepared to soaks up all that Vitamin D during those warm, sunny months.

Lately, I have been completely obsessed with Farah Dhukai and all her skin tutorials. I have dedicated myself to try as many recipes as possible and have found a couple solid ones that I have added to my skin routine.

One of my favorite skin treatments at the moment is a peel off, charcoal, detox face mask. It is great for all skin types, especially oily/acne prone skin. What’s so great about charcoal is that it literally pulls all the dirt and grossness from your skin and shrinks pores.

*Disclaimer: make sure to do a test patch first to make sure your skin isn’t allergic to the ingredients.*

You will need:

– ½ cup of boiling water

– 1sp of agar agar powder

– 2 teaspoons of activated charcoal powder (not the kind you use to light a grill. That would be bad… very bad)

This is what you need to do:

1. Bring the water to a boil

2. Add the agar agar powder to the water

3. Add the charcoal powder to the mixture

4. Let the mixture cool down until it is warm enough to apply to your face.

5. Apply the mask to your face and let it completely cool. Then peel off.

6. Moisturize your skin right after.
