Another game, another title earned for the the volleyball team as they add Bi-District champions to their now 30-9 record, leaving Anna High School Monday night with a 3-0 win against Sherman and momentum leading into the second round of playoffs.

“This win is a momentum shift because, after our wake up call against Lebanon Trail, we recognize that all of our points must be earned; it’s about how hard we work and how bad we want it, and I think we showed those things tonight,” senior Regan Cooper said via text. “Our biggest obstacle is keeping the level of play in control. We want to be in charge of the pace of the game, and as long as that happens and we have a crowd to back us up, we’re unbeatable.”

Winning the District 9-5A championship with a 16-2 record and clearing the first round of playoffs, the team is focusing on what they already know and controlling their mindset.

“We’ve been doing a lot of defense in practice lately so we are going to continue to focus on our defense because the scrappy, defensive plays help build momentum and win games,” senior Ashley Pennington said via text. “Mental stuff is always our challenge, we all know what to do volleyball wise it’s just a matter of not letting our emotions take over.”
