Girls’ basketball continued its defensive dominance beating Frisco 58-9 Tuesday in The Nest to maintain their hold on second place in District 9-5A.

“We’ve been practicing new types of defense and using them in the games to make our opponents have to change their offense,” senior Savannah McKeen said. “I think by changing our defense up we have been able to combat teams based on their strengths and weaknesses and shut down a lot of key players. This change makes us more prepared for different opponents that we will face in playoffs and will allow us to be better prepared in harder games.”

Keeping strong on defensive is an important part of the team’s plan to propel them into the playoffs.

“From the start of the season we’ve always been focusing on defense,” senior Kenzi Glover said. “Working on boxing out after scrambles and being aware. I’ve been really proud of our defensive stops as well.”
