Red Rhythm swept the Danceline USA Ring of Champions competition at Celina High School on Saturday, winning the both the Grand Champions Large Team and was the First Runner up in overall Grand Champs.

“I think they did an amazing job they put in a lot of work and time and dedication to their goals and they exceeded their goals,” drill team director Nicole Nothe said. “They did an outstanding job representing Frisco ISD at the competition.”

The team had months of practice leading up to the competition.

“A bunch of morning practices and after school practices and we basically just clean and run our dances just trying to prepare them for the contest,” senior Mallory Kalka said.

Although Red Rhythm placed, the team took away more than just awards.

“I think the contest is not only about winning the title but just feeling accomplished in what we put out there and bonding with each and every one on the team,” Kalka said.
