Frisco families get fit
April 12, 2019
The first Frisco ISD Family Wellness Festival is Saturday at Independence High School from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
“With over 80 vendors, live fitness demos, a fun zone and family laps, the goal was to create a free event for students, parents, and staff,” FISD health coordinator Allison Gin said. “And for the community to learn about resources that support the health and wellness of students and families.”
Saturday’s festival arose from two different school district groups.
“The inspiration for the Frisco ISD Family Wellness Festival came from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) and the K-12 P.E. and health teachers in FISD,” Gin said. “Both groups determined a need for an event at the district level to showcase businesses in the community that support the whole family and whole child.”
