Although this month has lived up to its word with a couple of April showers, the majority of the weather recently has been pretty nice. The sun’s been out and the temps have risen, and it’s got me in a pretty good mood, too.

Driving home from school, I see younger kids at the park and families on walk, and it’s a good reminder to myself to take a break and enjoy the outdoors.

It’s so easy to get caught up with school work, especially with AP season right around the corner, but I really want to make a better effort to be outside and be active.

When you’re a kid, or at least when I was, life was all about adventuring outdoors. I remember being fascinated watching tadpoles in the creeks around my community and inspired to find new trails and shortcuts.

It’s sad that that natural sense of curiosity and passion for the outdoors fades a little as you grow up, but it can be helped with a little self awareness and motivation.
