Volleyball set to rumble with Rangers

The Redhawks season and 22 game win streak came to an end on Tuesday, but the girls were recognized by coaches across the district for making each of the three All District teams. Coaches from every school vote on players from each school, to represent the best of the best from FISD.

In their second match of the District 9-5A season against the Lone Star Rangers, the Redhawk volleyball team looks to continue its 13-game district winning streak, and set themselves up for a top seed in the playoffs.

“We want to win tonight. I’ve been very pleased with the outcome of the season,” head coach Ui Womble said. “I think our kids worked very hard, and put a lot of time in lately, and I’m excited to wrap up district in the next couple weeks.” 

With just five district games remaining in the 2019 season, the team hopes to maintain its undefeated record.

“I’m very excited, Lone Star has definitely gotten better since we played them, so we have to go in strong and play our game,” junior DD Bova-Ford said. “I really hope this win tonight sets us up to continue our winning streak throughout our district in to get a better seeding in the playoffs.”
