Putting their dance skills to the test, Dance 3 and 4 students spent part of Tuesday at the annual Collin College Dance Day at the Plano campus.

“I loved the diversity and seeing everyone of different skill levels come together to dance,” senior Alex Rocha said. “I have become a more well rounded dancer, and built a foundation to improve on my skills.”

The students had a chance to learn new skills they might not learn on campus.

“I learned how to do a headstand and handstand,” senior Dorothy Collier said. “I also learned a way to break dance on the floor in a cube manner.”

Other than adding new skills, some of the dancers expanded their expertise with unfamiliar faces leading them.

“I like how we got to take classes by different professors that we otherwise would not have taken classes with,” Collier said. “It helped me think about how to use different parts of my body, and become familiar with different types of dances that I didn’t know before.”
