January 6, 2016
Tuesday night marked a big day for the school’s varsity basketball program, as both teams eyed their 5th district win.
The girls team shut down Heritage 45-25 in a defensive masterclass. Not allowing the Coyotes to score more than 8 points in a quarter, the team dominated, led by Jordan Hamilton, who led the team with 19 points. Freshman Randi Thompson also contributed 7 points in the win.
The boys team was only up three at half in their matchup against Heritage. However, the second half was a different story, as the team doubled the amount of points Heritage scored to give them a 70-49 win, securing the 5th straight district win. Senior Carter Brown led all scorers with 18 and senior Bradley Saad also added 16 in the win.
