Sweet Hut serves scrumptious baked selection
Unlike most boba tea shops popping up in Plano and Frisco, Sweet Hut Bakery and Cafe offers a wide variety of baked goods in addition to the popular drinks.

From Taiwan to Texas, boba tea is something that has become a world wide trend. In the Dallas area boba tea shops are nearly as popular as Sonic with Plano’s Sweet Hut Bakery and Cafe a standout amongst a crowded list.
When you walk into the store you are greeted by the smell of an assortment of buns, breads and other sweets. In the front of the cafe, cases are lined with freshly made baked goods that make you feel like a kid in a candy store.
The rest of the store is filled with lounging chairs, tables and booths which makes it a nice area for studying or hanging out with friends.
Compared to many American desserts, the Sweet Hut pastries are not very sweet. Despite this fact, pastries, such as the mochi red bean bun and taro butterfly, still have a lot of flavor. The bread in the mochi red bean bun was very soft but a little bland compared to the filling which was both sweet and sticky due to the mochi. They contain less artificial flavors that are in many American desserts and are worth a taste.
The number of drink options span across three TVs on the upper wall behind the counter. From milk teas to lattes, you will never run out of options. One of the boba teas, the strawberry milk tea with boba has a creamy consistency and, like the pastries, isn’t too sweet. The boba strawberry milk tea has a thicker consistency versus other teas such as green tea due to the milk and is a good choice for people who have never had boba.
The fish cakes, a snack sold at Sweet Hut, are savory and worth the purchase but are not as enjoyable as the boba and pastries. The cakes are very juicy with not too much spice. They have crisper outside and a very soft inside that makes them a delight to bite into.
Whether you go with friends or want to hog all the boba and treats for yourself, Sweet Hut Bakery and Cafe is definitely worth the visit.
