Soccer kicks off season

Both boys' and girls' soccer is underway with both teams playing Tuesday. For the boys' it was a 1-1 draw with Sherman and for the girls' it was a 2-1 win over Lone Star.

The girls’ soccer team defeated Lone Star 2-1 to kick off its district season. Kaci Parks and Ashleigh Walker both scored to give the team a narrow edge over the Rangers.

The boys’ team traveled to Sherman to play their final tuneup game before district play begins on Friday, drawing Sherman 1-1 on a late rebound goal by Payam Zamhariri.

Both teams will play Independence on Friday, with the boys playing at home, and the girls playing away.
