The Redhawks took on Lone Star High School Friday coming out with a 19-0 win against the Rangers in a District 9-5A match.

As the first district win of the season for the Redhawks, tennis coach Erica Dopson feels her team played well making many improvements since their last match.

“Everyone played aggressive,” coach Dopson said via email. “We won 19-0 and players improved [in] doubles play.”

Sophomore Milla Dopson feels her team came together and won this match through their determination which helped carry them to victory.

“I felt the match went so good,” Milla Dopson said via text. “Honestly it probably couldn’t have gone any better. Our team’s strengths was that even after a few losses, our team picked it back up and dominated.”

Friday’s win has the Redhawks more confident for their next match against Frisco High School Tuesday.

“We should have a competitive match with Frisco and hope to get another win,” coach Dopson said. “I am feeling confident in the team for Tuesday.”
