It’s a battle for first place in District 9-5A volleyball action Friday night when the Redhawks travel to Lebanon Trail to take on the Trail Blazers at 5:45 p.m.

The Redhawks enter Friday’s contest with a 5-1 record, just one game behind the Trail Blazers (6-0).

“This is a big game for us,” senior Sue Slater said. “We have been working extremely hard knowing where they are sitting in district and knowing where we want to be.”

The two teams have developed a strong rivalry on the court with each school at the top of the district standings the last two years.

In 2019, the Redhawks swept both games against the Trail Blazers, but the team isn’t taking anything for granted as practices have seen the team focus on a variety of things to enhance their game in every aspect.

“We’ve worked on a lot of things these past few days,” Slater said. “Serving, blocking, and lots of game-like situations.”
