The fall blood drive scheduled for Nov. 17 has been cancelled, but local blood banks still need your help.

Although students and staff will not have the ease of walking outside school and donating on the Carter BloodCare buses, blood donations are still needed.

But while some parents or students may be nervous to give blood during a pandemic, Frisco ISD parent, Beth Berk, has given blood during this time, so she knows what it’s like.

“I mean it’s definitely less busy there. I think that people are afraid to go in and donate which is silly because it’s one of the cleanest places you can be,” Burk said. “And what I miss when we last went is that a lot of people would talk to each other and there would be like comradery in there, but with the masks on it’s a little hard for people to understand which made the process even faster by not chit chatting around.”
