$7.9 million has been awarded to graduating seniors for college since 1999 from the Frisco Education Foundation Scholarship Program, and the class of 2021 has the chance to add more money to that total with the application opening Monday and closing Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.

“There’s a lot of money that can potentially be earned and there’s a lot of scholarships you can apply for through this one application,” senior Megan Guidry said. “This will hopefully make it a lot easier to pay for college.”

The scholarship value varies by student, as they are based on academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, volunteer efforts and other criteria designated by donors. Awards are then sent directly to the college or university of the student’s choice.
