Construction on Emerson High School at 6300 Collin McKinney Parkway is moving along with the new high school scheduled to open in August 2021, and with its close proximity to campus that means Frisco ISD will adjust the attendance zone.

Growth projections for campus without a change in attendance zones would have the school at more than 2,200 students in 2021, nearly 2,400 students in 2022 and more than 2,500 students in 2023.

The draft attendance zones released Monday would have all FISD freshmen and sophomores next year that live east of Custer Road attending Emerson. That move would keep campus’s  projected attendance for the next three years between 2,000 and 2,100 students.

Monday’s presentation of the draft attendance zones for next year was the first step in the rezoning process. Next, there will be an opportunity for public comment on the process at a special board meeting on Dec. 1, with the Board of Trustees aiming to make a final decision at their regular meeting on Dec. 14.

Parents and guardians with questions or input regarding the proposed changes may call 469-633-6031 or email zoning@friscoisd.org.
