Uchiba offers one of a kind Japanese food near downtown Dallas

When it comes to Texas, it isn’t usually trademarked for its Asian cuisine. However, thanks to Uchiba in the outskirts of downtown Dallas, that may have to change. Uchiba is a one of a kind Japanese restaurant with a large and fairly pricey menu. The beautiful and dimly lit restaurant offers a wide selection of foods.

Uchiba is a one of a kind Japanese restaurant with a large and fairly pricey menu.

The beautiful and dimly lit restaurant offers a wide selection of foods.

The Hot Fried Chicken Bun is a memorable sandwich with savory fried chicken, pickles, and cornichon gastrique, served in a toasted Parker House Roll. This dish is perfect for those who enjoy a sweet and tangy mouthful, as well as tender and enjoyable meat. The crunch and buttery bun of this sandwich perfectly complements the poultry and sauce, as well as evens out the soury-sweetness from the pickles. The textures fit as if they were always meant to be made together, even before the birth of the meal.

Another unforgettable dish is the Karaage, otherwise known as Japanese fried chicken. It is a chopped chicken thigh paired with sweet chili, cilantro and seasonal pickles and tossed in karaage sauce. This meal will leave your mouth watering for more after every bite. Yet again the meat is tender beneath the outer shell of breading, and is rather enjoyable going down. It is slightly spicy and the pepper’s effect lingers pleasantly, while being counteracted by the sauce’s and veggie’s sweetness, making it a flavorful addition to your dinner and a house specialty.

Finally, the Wagyu Beef Yakitori Skewers introduce a new yet delectable flavor to your palate. Wagyu beef, coined as the greatest type of beef in the world, is plated with herbs, fried fingerling tostone potatoes, and yuzu kosho aioli. The crunch of the potatoes is enjoyable yet brief, as your mouth quickly meets the creamy center of the tiny vegetable, with just the right amount of seasoning. The beef itself is a bit chewy but enjoyable, the meat releasing the naturally fatty and juicy umami of the meat onto your tongue. The savory flavor is amplified by the deliciously tangy sauce that it is coated in, while the aioli’s cool and creamy texture harmonizes with the other components.

Uchiba is a beautiful and neat restaurant with quick, polite and attentive service, valet parking, and a tasteful ambiance, suitable for those with a large appetite and budget, as well as a taste for faux regality and unique dinners.
