Seniors revisit their elementary schools one last time
April 28, 2021
Throughout April and May, student alumni of Anderson and Isbell elementary have the opportunity to walk down memory lane as they are invited to either revisit their elementary or take part in a virtual ceremony.
Being able to share memories with his old classmates and teachers is bittersweet for senior Tyler Brown, a graduate of Isbell elementary.
“I’m looking forward to hearing from my old teachers and it’ll be cool to revisit some memories, however that looks virtually,” Brown said. “But I do find it sad that everyone is taking off in opposite directions. I mean I grew up with these kids and to think that I won’t see many of them for a while will take some getting used to.”
Being given the opportunity to meet-up has led Anderson alumni Sydney Andros to reflect on some moments from her elementary school experience.
“I’m really excited to go back and see everyone,” Andros said, via email. “I would say our fifth grade play or winter parties would be a few of my favorite memories. Also, anything to do with recess was always my go to!”
Attending Baylor University in the fall with nearly 20,000 other students, Andros believes revisiting the close-knit community at Anderson will be quite surreal for her.
“It’s going to be a little weird because the school is completely remodeled and may look different to me now that I’ve been out of it for a while,” she said. “But truly I am super pumped and I think it’ll be a great success!”
