This week I wanted to tell you guys about my favorite album of all time, Listen by David Guetta. This album is everything I could ever want all in one. It’s got great features and fantastic production. I am a huge fan of David Guetta and his music has always had a way of speaking to me. So, I wanted to share my favorites from this album. It’s really difficult to pick a top three so I am going to give you a top five,

Coming up on number one is “Lovers on the Sun” featuring Sam Martin. I don’t know where to begin with this song, it’s so beautiful both lyrically and sonically. It’s nostalgic and reminds me of my family and this one trip we took together to a place called Villa de Leyva in Colombia. This is one of my favorite songs of all time and the best off of this album.

At number two is “The Whisperer” featuring Sia. This song is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It’s really slow and sad but Sia’s delivery of it is incredible. Her strong voice adds a very human perspective to the track. Despite being a sad song, it brings me great joy and reminds me of the beauty that there is in sadness.

Next up is “What I Did for Love” featuring Emeli Sande. I really love this song because it’s so deep without even trying. At face value, it’s something to dance and let loose to, but if you pay attention to the lyrics you realize just how honest it is. The track dives deeper into human nature exploring the extents that we will go to for someone we love, whether it’s healthy or unhealthy for us. I think that it’s the perfect combination of depth and human nature mixed with fun and dance beats.

Number four is “Bang My Head” featuring Sia. This song is straight-up encouraging and uplifting. Throughout the song the lyrics make you realize that no matter how many times you hit a wall or an obstacle in your path, you will rise above it, learning from your mistakes, and become greater than you were.

Last but certainly not least on my list is “Dangerous” featuring Sam Martin. I truly adore this song and its meaning. This song is a double entendre in its entirety speaking about both a relationship and cruising a car around town. It talks about needing to know the beauty inside the person that you want to be with and seeing where it takes you as a road guides a car to a certain destination. It reminds me of my first trip to Europe and the UEFA European Championship of all things. When I was in Europe the Euro Championship was going on and I remember coming back to our hotel every night to watch the games and relishing the experience.

Honorable mentions that I’d like to include are “Hey Mama” featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack,Yesterday” featuring Bebe Rexha, “No Money No Love” featuring Elliphant & Ms. Dynamite, and finally “Shot Me Down” featuring Skylar Grey.

There is nothing about this album that I don’t like. It has made me cry, laugh, and dance. Sometimes all at the same time! I love David Guetta and I am so grateful to him for creating this masterpiece. I recommend this to absolutely anyone and everyone because this album is simply incredible.
